The DLS is Spectra?s latest creation, a lightweight racing monster made specifically for the grueling Epsilon GP. DLS stands for ?Dynamics and Lightweighting Study,? a project launched by Spectra with the purpose of developing machines with a simple yet timeless philosophy. This philosophy is best explained through the basic formula of speed = less weight a more power. Spectra?s new racing ship features a pair of large antimatter engines mated to a frame which was made as light as possible. The result is a ship that reflects the DLS project?s philosophy like a mirror. Early testing indicates that the DLS is up to 30% faster around the track than the famous L218.
Spectra, the team which just created the DLS, is no stranger to high-level motorsports. Any racing fan old or new will recognize their feats. At their home galaxy, the team won many victories across multiple eras of racing- ranging from the early days of post-war motorsport, to the golden age of endurance prototypes, all the way to the modern-day Open Cup. Spectra once took victory at the trans-galactic Epsilon Grand Prix (a first for any team from the Anea Galaxy) in one of the event?s toughest seasons to date. The following Epsilon GP, a Spectra-made ship took victory again, this time piloted and operated by a privateer entrant.
Spectra?s mythical consistency and all of their race victories have made the team gain the ire of many fans, much as those feats have made them legendary. However, despite the controversy that their dominance creates, Spectra?s leadership insists that it will not back down just because the competition cannot keep up. The team will continue to push the boundaries of speed and technology so long as they live.
With their old rival, Racing Team Sentry, making a surprise appearance among the 4022 EGP starting grid, Spectra now has a serious challenge on their hands. While Spectra has better technology and more experience, Sentry is on their way to the gutter- and therefore have nothing left to lose. RTS? drivers will push to the limits, and will most certainly be willing to take risks during the race.
Will Sentry?s raw passion prevail, or will Spectra?s dominance prove to be too formidable?
