(My remake of Maxis? Bananaz)

The Bananaz are a strange race of primates belonging to their own genus in the family Cercopithecidae. Their body has assumed an unusual banana like shape and smell. Some assume it developed as a means of attracting some form of prey or maybe even mates. But no one knows for sure.
It has however given rise to a myth that claims they assumed their shape from eating too many bananas which are known to be a considerable delicacy among the race.

The myth actually holds some truth. The smell comes from the bananas they eat which their body has evolved to capture and lock the odour in their skin. According to a number of sources (including the Munkey race) this has a side effect of making their meat taste strongly of banana.

Speaking of the Munkey race they are the sworn enemies of the Bananaz. They desire to enslave the Bananaz for consumption and were responsible for driving them from their homeworld. As a result, the Bananaz are now spread far and wide throughout many galaxies forming into many factions with very different cultures.

Two subspecies of Bananaz exist. The five fingered Bananaz and the three fingered Bananaz (which basically have the four normal fingers fused into two and their thumb is also notably larger).
