South Africa, 260 million years ago. Large dinocephalian herds roam the country and are preyed upon by the first gorgonopsids and mammal relatives.

okay after some research i see you're right. the classic division of vertebrates (fishes,amphibians,reptiles,birds and mammals) is outdated. i grew up with the term "mammal-like reptiles", thats all. my apologies ;)

No, synapsids are not reptiles. Amniotes are divided into synapsids, which include mammals, and sauropsids, reptiles and birds.

thanks a lot ;) @Triop5 most of them are synapsids which is an underclass of the reptiles. but i agree they're more like an outstanding class, the problem is where to draw the line... are feathered dinosaurs birds or reptiles?

Amazing adventure! The Diictodon running for their burrows was a genius touch. But I'd like to point out most of those animals are not reptiles.
