Flowerfoot nodded. She returned to the nursery. "Skystar says that you can be a medicine cat, but only when Leaftail is no longer sick." Woodkit looked excited. "I can't wait!"

Skystar nodded. "What is it?" "Woodkit would like to be a medicine cat," Flowerfoot meowed. Skystar sighed. "I suppose, but not right now. Leaftail's sick, so we must wait."

Flowerfoot reluctantly followed Woodkit. "I want to be a medicine cat," Woodkit told his mother. Flowerfoot nodded. "I'll tell Skystar." She padded out of the nursery and into Skystar's den. "I would like to speak with you, Skystar," she said.
