The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a Fighter-Bomber that saw combat in the USAF and was introduced in 1942.It was the heaviest,largest and most expensive aircraft ever to be powered by a single propeller engine.

I have to disagree with Noname here. The somewhat stubby look and the rather odd fuselage cross-section are plainly visible on this model, and also the wing shape works quite well. R+.
