Description

The Great Mosque of Samarra is a mosque located in the Iraqi city of Samarra. It was completed in 851 and was the largest mosque in the world at completion. Its tower, the Spiral Minaret, or ?Malwiya Tower? (?Malwiya? meaning ?Snail shell?), is a spiraling cone 52 meters high and 33 meters wide with a spiral ramp around the outer rim. This shape is unique among mosques, and is topped by a small cylindrical room. It is believed the visual presence of this structure was designed to display the strength and presence of Islam in the Tigris Valley.

It's made with basic building blocks, a couple of cylinders and a lot of rotating. Thanks for the awesome response!
