Description
(Made for DH106's deadly air racer contest) Designed by Joe Pirennado in 2001, the Gazelle racer, or aircraft #11, was made by duct-taping a seat to a wooden board, duct taping a metal rod with the rudder and back landing gear duct taped to it to the board and allowing control of it through foot pedals, and then duct taping a board with the front wheel and controls to the board, and then duct taping wings to that board, with the engines duct taped on, and they were both controlled by the controls on the front board. The controls were two smaller joysticks, or in this case small metal rods, on the front board, the right one controlling the wings, the left controlling engine power, plus two foot pedals are put in front of the seat, and they allow rudder control. It flew the first race perfectly fine, but the second was a disaster, as described in this newspaper article: "The total number of deaths of yesterdays race was 179, 168 of them caused by Joe Pirennado and his aircraft. As you may know, Joe won second place in the race before that, and his aircraft held together, but this race went differently. On the second lap, the armchair broke off and hit the rudder, causing it to also break off, except for a small stub of the bar holding it to the aircraft. Luckily, Joe grabbed that bar, and pulled himself up to the controls, only to find himself flying straight at a grandstand with 61 people, which was right next to a gas pump. Joe barely managed to pull up, missing the grandstand, but that did not spare it. The number 1 engine came loose, and as Joe struggled to fly his now 3 engined craft, with the weight on only one side, there was a massive explosion behind him, and 61 lives were claimed. Struggling to control his seatless and rudderless lopsided high speed jet, Joe barely managed to straighten it, just when the number 4 engine broke off and managed to hit a parking lot, killing 35 people and putting another 11 in the hospital, and causing about 1,000,000 dollars in damage. with the weight evened out, Joe got control of the aircraft again, for about 10 seconds, which was enough time for the number 2 engine to break off. It hit a passing commuter train, in which caused the deaths of 53 people and sent another 42 to the hospital. Now on one engine, his number 3, Joe turned around to attempt a landing, knowing that he cannot win. He was approaching the runway when his last engine flew off the aircraft and hit the control tower, causing the death of 20 personal, plus 2,000,000 in damage.
The only person spared from the Gazelles wrath yesterday was Joe Pirennado himself, having made a successful crash landing in a nearby field, and he has only a broken leg. However, he will have to pay a high price, with nearly 4,500,000 in damages, plus the medical bills from him and the spectators who he injured, which adds another 250,000 dollars to his bill. He is also getting charged with 169 cases of manslaughter, and it's expected to rise." The number eventually hit 175 cases of manslaughter, and Joe had to accept money from friends and other racers, sell some of his furniture, sell the remains of the Gazelle to a museum, and he also had to get a job, working as a pilot instructor.

However, it was the best taxier of the racers, and possibly the only lesson, other than don't use duct tape to make an entire aircraft, that the gazelle taught.

Hey! The description is nearly the same on my entry. ;) Doesn't matter, your plane looks VERY improvised. That's EXTREMELY awesome. ^^

How'd you make the description so long?

Lol, crazy little racer thing here - looks very appropriate for the contest!
