Lurking below the water surface, they watch a small area of the beach with their seismic organs until a potential prey is detected. Then, they run out of the water, catch their prey and drag it into the surge. Usually, they stay under the water, but they are able to leave it and survive a while on the land. If a prey notices an attacking Tide Runner, it has a good chance to escape, because Tide Runners don't like to hunt longer than a few seconds due to the fact that it's very exhausting for them. (Inspired by shattari's Tide Shark)
