Description
The Ashthi are a sentient, silicon-based species from a planet called Aerdrol. This Ashthi comes from a early tribe that developed on its worlds blue, open plains. It wears primitive arm guards which help to protect the creatures fragile limbs in battle. Although their ancestors were evolved for tree life, current Ashthi are highly adaptable and can live in a range of environments. Though their intelligence is a key factor, Ashthi also have a special exoskeleton which lets them blend in to most planetary surroundings. Lying just below the surface is an array of primitive chromatophores. These allow it to roughly mimic surrounding color schemes. You might be wondering how an Ashthi can distinguish colors without eyes, but they actually have organs for that as well. Tiny "hairs" on the head and chest of an Ashthi are studded with microscopic photoreceptors, which allow the creature to vaguely see shape and color.
