Description
With all desires gratified by the network, the Asigmir lost their scientific curiosity and their desire for success. By five generations from the network?s inception, all reality for the Asigmir people had become one of machine simulation.
The simulation was too perfect. Even their reproductive drive was suppressed. Birthrates slowed to zero. As the last elderly Asigmir happily dwindled to death, thus was revealed the flaw in ARENSUL?s directive: by ensuring the complete happiness of every Asigmi, so too had it ensured the destruction of their race.
