Description

This is the final stage of the Dyjok. The result of the merging of two members of the previous stage is a large, fatty mass (and a massive brain). This mass will usually stay "dormant" for a certain number of time while it grows and adapts to its environment. Around 98% of the animals that make it this far die during this time (mostly by other predators that can make a quick meal out of this nutritious animal). After this new growth, the animal no longer looks insectoid, and instead is simply a body supporting a brain. Gas pockets, filled with gaseous helium waste, keep the Dyjok afloat and allow it to move. The tentacles at the bottom of the creature allow it to manipulate its environment as well as absorb nutrition from any animal that happens to get tangled in them. Perhaps the greatest change is in the mind. The brain, using the combined brain-mass of the two original Dyjoks, suddenly becomes sentient. Not only that, but it has developed what can only be described as psychic powers. The electric field of the brain (usually used for stimulation, thought, and other processes) is no longer restrained to the structure of the brain itself. The animal can send out short, invisible beams of electrons. These electrons can be used to manipulate the environment, but are also used to communicate and even conjoin the minds of these creatures. Therefore, hive-minds are now physically possible. Using this new intelligence and power, the Dyjoks have created a civilization that can only be described as a utopia (or dystopia).
