Description
During my journey through the harsh desert, I came across many of these beasts, for I was intruding in their homeland. I could hear rumbling beneath my feet as one would get close, and a small trail of risen sand along where they slithered. I've learned, if you hear or see this, hide behind one of the dunes, but don't lay down, they can hear breathing and heartbeats. I had to distract one and injure it to escape once. When you see one rise, it usually only rises a quarter of its length out of the ground if it's full grown, so don't underestimate them. The beasts have knife-like teeth, and will kill by grabbing you with them and dragging you down until you suffocate. Their skin is literally rock-hard, so the only weapon useful on them is a club or mace; blades are only useful on the eyes, which is still a great tactic for escaping one. If I ever go on a journey through the desert again, I will definitely have to read this page again, to refresh my memory of these beasts' power.
