Description
The narose are hive animals that revolves around abandoned factories for they health of their swarm. They carry their young throughout the old rusty pipes and make homes in long dead machinery. Glowing plates lead them through the mazes. With minds built for geography they memorize escape routes and most successful nesting spots in the complex works of their home.
The factories are left by a race that went extinct through nuclear fallout hundreds of billions of years before sol formed. The land has long since lost it?s radioactive waves, but after setting off an explosion from a storage of 25 nukes, somehow still in shape, the creatures developed from the odd energy bouncing around the corners of their world. They quickly went from microbes to worms to vicious fish, eventually ending up as the monsters they are now.
The shiny hide is of flexible metal, almost impossible to penetrate with a blade of normal steel. Another odd feature is that when near death the creature?s mouth muscles tighten, fixed in place and releasing a poisonous acid into the air. If the life form apposing them is vanquished, it will release the hold and nourish itself back to health with the corpse. This only happens if there is one wandering out beyond the factory, as the vibrations of anything out of the ordinary will be stormed and ripped to shreds by the monsters pouring out of the pipes all around them.
Babies are laid alive by the queen and queen alone, eggs hatching in a sort of extension pouch formed after mating on the creature?s back. They lose it as soon as the babies empty out of it, feeding it to the young. Then females of the swarm come in and raise the hatchlings. Males mostly function as hunters and warriors, but the occasional few strong enough to be approved mate with the queen and serve as her guards.
