This is the Archonian Lancer or Lance Fighter, its a heavy assault fighter that is designed to fly into a high risk area, survive any heavy fire it may take and dish it back. Described by many as a flying tank, in a sense it is.
The Archonian military philosophy dictates that a military craft should adhere to purpose, function and survivability. Any military vehicles that do otherwise for the sake of good looks and aesthetics deserve to be blown away.
