Blaze Bringers
Stone Arms
Quiet Torrent

These are the four Knight Orders that serve the Fourfold Court and its Lord. Each serves a specific purpose. Spark Keepers, for one, are an order of Scribal Knights. Their job is to gather knowledge and use it to innovate and devise new ideas. As the Fourfold Court is in charge of frontier colonies, Spark Keepers? job is mainly to keep track of neighbouring empires and their population, diplomatic relations, ecosystems, military strength, culture, individuals of note, economics, important events and so on. Some may consider them spies, which isn?t too far off seeing as their quests often take them to the territories of other empires for the express purpose of gathering information. But that is a gross oversimplification of their purpose, as they also make for great inventors, teachers and lorekeepers. Many whelp houses feature writings by famous Scribal Knights.

Whereas Spark Keepers tend to avoid conflict, the Blaze Bringers seek it. Their purpose is to serve as the Court?s muscle, and for that end, they are on a continuous quest to seek more power. If Spark Keepers write the great stories, then Blaze Bringers are the ones that star in them. Their Soul Rites take them all across the galaxy to fight dangerous threats, be it armies of barbarians or giant monsters. When the time for a crusade comes, they return and band together to form a feared offensive force. Due to their tendency to head towards dangers, their feats tend to serve as basis for Soul Rites quite often when compared to other Orders. This has given them a reputation as reckless thrillseekers, or as certain people in the inner worlds might say, ?insane masochists?.

Stone Arms, however, are a more neutral Order. While Blaze Bringers adventure outside the Queendom, Stone Arms work to maintain stability and order within. They apprehend criminals, save people from disasters and generally help the citizens with their problems. One could consider them a combination of public services such as police force, firefighters, doctors and so on in the frontier colonies. While not depicted as the ?brave, bold heroes? that Blaze Bringers are, they also get to star in numerous stories written by Scribal Knights. Their stories just tend to focus on philosophy and life lessons, rather than action and excitement. Parents love them, whelps tend to not.

Knights of the Quiet Torrent, however, rarely make an appearance in stories. Their work tends to lie in silence and subterfuge, as they are trained to discreetly investigate the unknown, and if they deem it necessary, find a way to eliminate it. When there?s a huge beast terrorising the land, you call in a Blaze Bringer. When a dam breaks and threatens to wipe a village out in its deluge, you need a Stone Arm. When there?s a strange anomaly, such as a town fallen for the curse of a witch, or an alien seeking to wreak havoc with foreign sorceries, then you need a knight who specialises in the strange.

Knight Relintus is one such knight. For those in the know, Relintus has earned some renown as a witch hunter in his early days as a knight. What he has been up to since, other than occasionally joining a crusade, is unknown to the public, as tends to be the case with Knights of the Quiet Torrent. Recently, however, there have been rumours of a new crusade brewing, and apparently Relintus and his new squire have been spotted near a base housing one of the SCA-700 model warships that the Queendom has been constructing in preparation.
