Description

The Three Conditions 2/2

How the device does this is a complicated process, but in essence, the Constant redirects and manipulates gravitational forces within a structure that has been designed for it. Any g-forces that would affect the passengers are converted either into further thrust for the ship, or into energy to cover a part of the device?s energy consumption. A small portion is also usually converted into artificial gravity towards whatever direction is deemed ?down?, so the ship?s inhabitants can experience normal gravity, bypassing the harmful effects of zero-g.

The idea of converting opposing g-force into further thrust is the core principle behind Hyper Acceleration engines, an early form of intergalactic travel. By generating more acceleration from the process of acceleration itself, one can create a self-feeding loop of exponential growth. Via this process, it?s possible to reach mid-causal speed, which is the minimum requirement for reasonable travel between galaxies, where the distances are much greater than between stars.

However, these Hyper Acceleration engines have a drawback, and that is their energy cost. Whereas low-causal vessels require only moderate amounts of energy to power their Constant, mid-causal ones require considerably more as the process of generating exponential acceleration and manipulating it is, of course, exponentially more energy-demanding. Due to their cost, Hyper Acceleration engines never became a commodity in the way Sporillium Drives did. Instead, early intergalactic travel from Benjami?s Galaxy was done in bulk via giant ships known as InterGalactic Express, with their power demands being handled by trade and diplomatic agreements between the companies and governments who used the Express.

This expensive state of travel between galaxies was remedied when the technological miracle that was Galaxy-Porter was eventually imported into Benjami?s Galaxy. Although the variants of Galaxy-Porters that were built in Benjami?s Galaxy were not as powerful as the variants in their home-galaxy of Miikka64, the designs adapted to Benjimus? laws of physics were still able to break the limit of what was previously possible, being able to launch vessels into other galaxies at high-causal speeds. The technology behind them is still foreign and not fully understood, but as more empires began to construct them, intergalactic travel became more and more accessible until it was about as practical as normal interstellar travel. Depending on one?s citizenship, at least. Not all empires could construct their own Galaxy-Porters, and a great deal of politics and business went into who could use which port and when.

With the advent of Galaxy-Porters, the use of which costs a fraction of the energy of Hyper Accelerator engines, the latter became mostly obsolete, being too costly for both intergalactic and interstellar travel. When the people of Benjimus inquired Miikka64?s Galaxy about Jump-Gates, miniaturised versions of Galaxy-Porters that could be used for high-causal travel within a galaxy instead of only out of it, they were firmly told to cease such inquiries. Some companies and governments sent spies to learn the secrets of these Jump-Gates in hopes of finding a way of skipping the dangers of riding the Currents, only to come back empty-handed or end up detained by the local authorities, bringing about multiple diplomatic incidents with nothing to show for it. Thus, the combo of Sporillium Drives, Currents and Constant still remains the go-to form of interstellar travel in Benjami?s Galaxy.

there's acctualy once where i got trible stage parts inside creature stage without mod's tho when i tryed to save it to spore it crashed, the way i did it was a cursed creature in space stage with trible stage parts spawned, and i edited it but didnt save

incredibly cool creation and especially cool backstory. this is actually the best explanation for space travel in spore imo a given the spice thing I wonder if you were inspired by the dune franchise to some extent. incredibly cool a I hope to see more :D

I can't but adore how you've fleshed out interstellar traveling in your galaxy, I almost get the feeling I'm reading an actual science book. I also love the mention of the Jump-Gates. Hands off them, please.
