Description

Both implausible from a physical and engineering standpoint, Tropadia I is a Neptune-Like planet, bearing an utterly enormous man-made structure of unknown origin straddling much of her circumference. The structure lofts as a half crescent just under the outermost hydrogen layer of Tropadia I. Like other Neptune/Uranus planets, she is referred to by astronomers as an ?ice-giant? with a mostly ice-silicate core and vast sums of methane in the ice, liquid, and gas forms ? the methane, with light scattering resulting in her blue colour. Orbiting at approximately Venus? orbital radius around a sun-like star, Tropadia is unusual in that she bears five massive moons in relative proximity to that star. Most striking is Tropadia V, less massive than Earth but more than Mars, an eccentric bastion of civilization in a depopulated galaxy. Contrasted by dense jungles and vast volcanic plains, Tropadia V has remained the principal home of the Tropadians: a species possessed of a vibrant if comparatively primitive culture, the tremendous gravitational forces between the Tropadia and her moons means constant tugging of Tropadia V?s tectonic plates resulting in a riven set of land-masses and islands. This further makes permanent settlement difficult on the planet due to frequent earthquakes and volcanism, which has prevented the Tropadians? advancement; further, the sheer mass of Tropadia I has caused a contraction of the local inner asteroid field, while many are captured by Tropadia I and the other moons, Tropadia V is still routinely pummelled by said astral debris which has caused several climatic shifts in her natural history. Presently, only alien technology and engineering make permanent civilisation possible. Today, Tropadia V is inhabited by a metropolitan collection of alien species seeking to escape the great disappearances, it was this exact catastrophe that led to the accidental discovery and settling of Tropadia V. Trading advanced technology for vast areas of land, the Tropadians have long since either been displaced or fallen under the yoke of a collection of Mob-Barons and Trafficking Organisations. The planet boasts a broad tropical belt that attracts hoards of wealthy visitors every standard year, this has resulted in a parasitic relationship, which rather than benefit the common-folk has served only to further line the pockets of the Mob-Barons. Other than all that, some arguably benevolent and slightly famous people hail from Tropadia V, she is indeed the home world of mercenary captain ?Bill? of the illustrious Bill?s Boys. She is also the adoptive home of an unassuming Dweeble Doctor nick-named ?Doc Genny? thought to be among the last of his kind left alive; his reputation as both a healer and kidnapper are of equal measure. ---Notes: the model is not scientifically accurate, the real orbits of the moons would be more parallel with Tropadia I. Basically, the moons aren?t actually orbiting like the model shows, nor so close - that would create a cosmic fiesta. The size comparisons are more or less accurate, though it is thought that Tropadia I would be similar to Neptune?s diameter e.g. Tropadia V though slightly smaller than Earth would still be consistent with the comparison of a nickel vs a baseball, therefore Tropadia I is undersized on the model.
