In hushed circles and secret gatherings, there are rumors of a society that lurks in the shadows, comprised of high-ranking politicians and corporate leaders who meet in secret. It is believed by many that this organization possesses dangerous military hardware and cutting-edge technology, capable of upsetting the balance of power in Anea. But what really scares most people is not this organization?s military capabilities, but its guiding philosophy. While not readily apparent in the first century following the Celestial War, there were many who believed that with the passage of time, the coalition of nations that once banded to protect the galaxy would succumb to an over-centralization of authority - and with it, corruption. Proponents of this ideology gathered together, and their dialogue slowly built up into a dangerous radicalism. The culmination of their meetings and efforts would be the formation of a new organization, with a singular goal in mind: To undermine, sabotage and dismantle any galaxy-spanning governments. Only this way, they believed, could lasting peace be achieved.

As of the 38th century, the crowning achievement of this organization was a hyperfighter, unparalleled in combat performance. This fighter, known as the ORX-222 ?Seraph?, takes its name from a creature from Ziravian culture. One glance at the fighter?s distinct, six-winged shape reveals exactly why it was named this way. The Seraph gets its tech from various sources across the galaxy, benefitting from the diversity of the organization which built it. Its six wings each come equipped with maneuvering thrusters, giving the Seraph impeccable agility in combat. On top of this, its three primary engines are each as powerful as the sole engine on an ARX-55 Pale Flame, allowing the hyperfighter to out-accelerate even dedicated interceptors. Most impressively, the few existing scans of the Seraph suggest that it likely makes use of a first-of-its-kind twin antimatter reactor, capable of meeting the fighter?s astronomical power requirements.

A single example of the Seraph appeared briefly on the battlefield, toward the end of the 38th century conflict known as the Yeroh War. While the craft did not directly support the Yeroh military or oppose the Xerian forces, its actions on the field were certainly against the interest of the Galactic Alliance. For reasons still not entirely clear, it is likely that the pilot of this Seraph failed to accomplish their objective. Compared to the era-defining hyperfighter of the previous century (the Phantasm), little is known of the ORX-222, particularly regarding the origins and history of the spacecraft?s design. However, some sources suggest that the ORX designation in its name refers to a weapons development project known as Ouroboros. Referencing the symbol, it is said that the Seraph represents a hidden blade that will ?cut off the snake?s head before it bites its tail?, bringing an end to the cycle of war in Anea. Ironically though, it is weapons like the Seraph that will become responsible for perpetuating the cycle of war, for the mere rumor of its existence among the intelligence community has fueled the Alliance?s mounting paranoia. In the end, conflicts like the Yeroh War and weapons like the Seraph will continue to provide ever more incentive for the Galactic Alliance?s disruptive militarization, pushing it closer toward the dystopian nightmare it would become in the 39th century.
