Description

Sunrue-Lonne's racer in the 2040 Grand Prix didn't do so hot, placing in the upper middle of the pack, and a lack of funding prevented them from developing a new ship for the 2021 season, leading to them losing even more positions.

Raprez Sunrue and Solstin Lonne knew they needed a new, much faster design, and immediately began seeking out additional funders. They found a couple, the main one of note being the Drantaline Company; who had attempted to compete back in 2040 but mechanical issues with their racer prevented it from competing; and they decided to not compete again themselves.

Despite no longer being a competitor, they were willing to fund another, in this case Sunrue-Lonne, with the requirement that their new DRL-12 "Flare" engines get used in the new racer.

Sunrue and Lonne modified the engines, producing the DRL-12SL, and developing a seperate piece of supercharging equipment for them, and built a starracer areound both pieces of equipment; sticking the supercharging equipment in a long nose. The end product is the SLR-3 Flareout.

The Flareout has raw engine power on it's side, but the compact "flare" engines and amount of supercharging leads to significant overheating issues, and a relatively heavy mass for it's size lead to reduced agility, overall making the ship a bit of a handful. Will Solstin Lonne be able to tame the beast or will Sunrue-Lonne continue to be a team confined to mediocrity?

Awesome to see you active again! I'd kind of thought all the talented artists from the picwar project were pretty much gone by now lol

Seems like you've let the beast loose. I love how it has both a sleek frame, as well as a kind of heavy hotrod/drag racer presence to it. I also dig the continuity and lore
