Description

Conceived shortly before the outbreak of the Yeroh War, the CCX is the product of the Comona Aerospace Self-Defense Force?s experimental fighter project. Originally intended for testing 5th-generation fighter technologies and compactization methods, by virtue of its sudden deployment into the war, the CCX became a heroic symbol of Comonan nationalism and resistance in the fight against the Yeroh?s blitzkrieg offensive.

The CCX is based off the standard CC450 fighter of the CASDF. Comonan fighters are usually more compact than the fighters used by other nations or corpo-states; since the Comonan borders only encompass two star systems, fighters need not carry extra fuel since most operations take place close to home anyway. The CCX, however, is even more compact than the average Comonan fighter, at about 90% the volume and 95% the mass of the CC450. This has been achieved through the use of state-of-the-art materials procured from various outside sources. This, in combination with a whole plethora of propulsion upgrades and frame optimization, makes for a truly potent superfighter design.

Just four CCX models were initially built for diagnostic testing and data gathering, partaking in high-altitude combat exercises over the azure seas of the Comonan homeworld. Shortly after its maiden flight, however, the Yeroh declared war on the whole Eastern Sector and rapidly advanced into Comonan territory. As a result, six more models of the craft were rushed into production in order to aid in the war effort.

Though control of Comona was temporarily lost, the CCX proved to be a formidable opponent in battle, holding off the invading Yeroh forces long enough for ground-based military personnel to escape into orbit. Later analysis of combat data from the battle showed that the CCX had superior flight characteristics even compared to the Yeroh?s own Assassin superfighter. The CCX showed up in every battle on the Comonan front of the war, and later assisted the Xerians and the Alliance forces during the push into Yeroh territory. Through all these battles, it carved its name into history, and is now known as one of the most iconic superfighter designs in all history - an astounding feat for such a small nation with limited industrial capacity.
