The lack of a clue for the next objective was there because I wanted to it be like Ecco the Dolphin... With my own characters and different locations of course. The glyphs and Vortex drone are from Ecco the Dolphin however.

Sorry for not commenting to you, but yes. The foot was there to give him speed and jump abilties. The "Matlen's Life" adventures was inspired and based off from Ecco the Dolphin (The geyser part is an example of that).
