Lordbills commonly eat animal children, and stolen eggs. Competition for stolen eggs is active between them, and Beastylyx hominids. It charges family groups in the night, taking advantage of their poor nightsight, and killing full-grown Beastylyx adults.

Just yesterday I saw a nature show called "Mutant Planet" had an episode about the filghtless birds of New Zealand. This ripperbeak looks well suited to be a top predator.
