Thanks to our old friends, the Davion, I assure you, there will be Retribution."-Atlas, Former Head Consul of the Osiris-----The history of the Retribution is short, but its purpose noble. Peace. Justice. Retribution. The Davion find it strange that to create peace they must build another weapon of war, but it must be done. The Retribution is not a battleship. Nor is it a carrier or cruiser, or super anything. It is a flagship. A command vessel. It leads, fights with, and supports any friendly ship in its domain, and obliterates anything that dares threaten its associates. ---For TSBFlagshipContestAs the crown of Davion design, the Retribution Class Flagship was immediately put to combat testing to prove itself. There was an uprising of Osiris supporters a few parsecs outside of Davion borders. These supporters were rallying, and preparing a surprisingly large strike force around a planet within a neutral star system. The Retribution's task was simple: Eliminate all opposition. As the target ships were clustered together, there wasn't much for them to do to defend themselves. Approximately 42 cruisers and 3 battleships were in this cluster. 25% were wiped out by the initial strike from the Retibution's forward ballistic cannon, and 50% were heavily damaged or crippled. The rest fell shortly after to a mixture of the twin Coliape cannons and eight main battle cannons. The uprising and its destruction went fairly unnoticed, but this proved to the Davion how powerful a craft they created.
