Description
United Enlightened Cultures starship "Random Smite"
After the Orion Alliance became allies with the UEC, Random Smite was sent to hold the LaGrange Point between the Alliance and their long time enemies, the Cygnus Combine. This highly advanced titan easily destroyed all of the incoming warships.
The Combine was getting desperate, because it was being invaded by a seemingly unstoppable force of starships designed to appear like various strange creatures. Soon, the ships coming thru the LP weren't attacking, they were fleeing -- so Random Smite destroyed the warships but let the civilian ships pass.
Suddenly a different kind of ship jumped thru, and Random Smite recognized it as one of the UEC's ancient enemy, the Hegemonia Galactica (a savage, militaristic heirarchy of fanatics controlled by an unknown force). She immediately destroyed the ship. but knew that more would be flooding thru soon, and that some would inevitably escape and multiply. So she transmitted her last logs and backups, positioned herself exactly on the LP, and imploded her drive core. There was a beautiful flash of light which collapsed into a black hole, altering the gravitation of the system, destroying the LaGrange Point, and forever changing the hyperspace routes.
The Hegemonia Galactica would have to find a different route to get to the Orion Alliance, thanks to the sacrifice of UECS Random Smite.
