Description

Arthur de Barre began his career as a captain of the White Guard, charged with protecting His Imperial Majesty from every conceivable threat ? real or imagined. De Barre gained great fame for his valiant deeds, unwavering courage in the face of battle, and adeptness at improv comedy. He became a symbol of the Empire?s greatness and was adored by thousands of subjects. It seemed as though nothing could have possibly gone wrong? until a tragic accident destroyed de Barre?s life and career. In the twelfth year of his service, de Barre was guarding His Imperial Majesty at a Harvest Festival held at the palace. The festival was going smoothly until the main course arrived. Everybody learned over the enormous plate cover in anticipation; but when it was lifted, where there should have been a roasted Great Boar, sat a live one instead which let out a great bellow and charged at His Imperial Majesty. De Barre, acting quickly, pushed His Imperial Majesty out of the way (into a very large cream cake) and stabbed the Boar in the heart, killing it? but not quickly enough before the Boar impaled de Barre?s brain with one of its tusks, inducing severe brain damage. Court healers weaved hundreds of enchantments to preserve de Barre?s life, but that was as far as His Imperial Majesty?s grace went. Furious over the botched security (what sort of captain could oversee whether the Boar was cooked or not!?) and embarrassed over being covered in cream and pastry, (His Imperial Majesty?s favorite robes were ruined!!) His Imperial Majesty discharged de Barre without honors. Unfortunately for de Barre, this was before the court healers had finished their work and although de Barre?s brain was mostly repaired, he was forced forever to speak in limericks. Disgraced, angry, and bitter, de Barre now roams the land as a vigilante, dishing out justice and witty rhyming poetry wherever he goes. He has vowed to have his revenge against those who have caused his misfortune and will stop at nothing in order to obtain it. In his own words: ?My life has been ruined quite clearly. And I want my revenge rather dearly. Those knaves who have cursed me, Will suffer my fury, And pain, they will feel most severely!?Please look at in the editor.
