If you choose the first detail for coat and detail paint, then there won't be a texture, so the color will appear on the outfitting but not the creature, except as shading for certain creature details. ;)

The outfit takes the color of the coat and detail colors. Some outfit parts don't change colors though, they stay silver or some other color.
