Description

One of the most advanced cobat mechs created to date, the Overlord is truly a marvel of modern IAE technology. While it does look somewhat large and unwieldy, this advanced and very capable battlemech is extremely agile and very manoeverable thanks to its system of high-powered, fighter-grade booster engines which make it capable of turning 180 degrees in less than 0.5 seconds. They also make it capable of sustained flight at speeds of up to Mach 2.45. Designed by the engineers of the RMC subsidiary of IAE, the overlord was designed to supplement the Hellcat assault mech with long to mid range support fire until ground operations can be established. After that, an Overlord will typically be sent out on search and destroy type missions on its own or in small groups of two to four. Variants include construction vehicles, dedicated anti-air versions, long range missile variants, and even advanced command mech variants such as the one above. The 93(h) variant is provided with more sophisticated armor and shielding systems and Mk12 high velocity heavy pulse cannons. The cockpit on this model is also outfitted with an extensive command and control interface as well as advanced communications equipment including an encrypted uplink to IAE's central command network.
