Description
For VEE141's contest. The Toxin Kactine is, in fact, the size of a fingernail. It seems to float on polluted water much in the style of an Earth Boatman insect. They have been known, however, to grow to the size of an average Dog if they take on a parasitic lifestyle. They gain entry into their hosts body merely by spraying acidic chemicals onto the skin of said host via their tail-sprayer. They will continue to spray until they have a tunnel system inside the body. The chemicals have a numbing effect so that the host has no knowledge of their wounds until later. The Kactine will then take root in the waste storage in the body, growing by eating whatever is in there. This causes problems to the victim and once fully grown the Kactine will protude through the skin and make a break for freedom. This is short lived however as, unless they are able to find a new, larger host, they will only live for up to 6 days. 105 MPN
