Description
Lion class utility cruisers are built for versatility. They are intended to fill a multitude of roles in the service of remote outposts and isolated colonies where only a single spacecraft may be present.
They are moderately sized, spanning about 450 meters in length. Plates of thick, reinforced ceramic composite form their hulls. They carry 5 utility craft and a large stock of remote scanning probes. These can be used for information gathering up to about a light-year distant. Special interlocks throughout the ship allow it to be brought from a completely inactive state to full operation in less than 45 seconds.
The secret to the craft's usefulness lies in its massive Gravity
Projection Apparatus. This highly advanced gravity engine allows the ship to manipulate objects of up to 800 times its own weight from about 11,000 AU away (as long as there is a massive enough object within range to act as a 'Fulcrum'). This lends the craft to a myriad of projects including excavation, construction, and weather management. It is often used for transport of large volumes of atmosphere or water, to supply space stations.
In a military role, the Lion class typically cannot destroy other ships except by colliding them with one another or with other objects. This can only work on objects with a combined mass lower than the gravity projector's weight limit. Fighter craft are very susceptible; Smaller types of attack craft can be forcibly hurled a long distance away. Very large ships cannot be stopped, only hampered for a time. This is sometimes enough, though, to allow more suitable combat ships to be brought to the system. The gravity field can also be used to 'Bubble' the vessel, bouncing projectiles and heavier types of plasmas away from the ship.
The Lion class is already a ubiquitous sight within Galbatron's trade hubs, with ships being purchased and deployed to stations all across the galaxy. It is hoped that these drab vessels will usher in a new age of space colonization throughout the universe.

Thank you for the compliment!! No, these are entries for Ansje's contest called "Santa's Toy Factory". He's going to make an adventure with entries, after the contest is over!
