?I shall return. And when that happens, the everlasting darkness of life will follow. This reality is ours, and you are the intruders. Soon, all of existence will be mine.? ? A twisted whisper heard at seemingly random times. Zeta-cycles ago, a body called the Duo Spheres Dynasty existed. It was the first universal ?government?, charged with establishing balance throughout existence. The leaders called themselves Gods, Crogentitors (DarkSpore reference!), Naga?s, and a number of other names. Like their future predecessors, the Order of Light, their goal was to preserve and protect life wherever it was. However, they did this by mutating the energy codes of various beings to create enforcers. What?s more, some of these experiments were sentient souls, often brought to the Dynasty against their will. All factions have their cruel secrets, and these Gods believed that lesser beings must serve higher powers like them. Also, the Dynasty was much more brutal in their methods. Mortals using immortal energies were ?purified with fire? instead of trying to negotiate with them. Destructionists were killed on the spot, no matter what they did, without any trial or imprisonment. The Dynasty used Heralds (equivalent to immortals) as agents. These Heralds didn?t always agree with the Dynasty?s methods, but they made do. Demigods were largely left out, seen as just other residents of the universe. Eventually the Dynasty fell after Ragnarok?s betrayal, and the Crogenitors, Naga?s, etc. were scattered, dead, imprisoned, or dropped from existence. However, they left a legacy of vast power and mind. In an attempt to create a perfect agent, they experimented with millions of samples of blood, using the ?purest lifeforms the universe had to offer?. Using their mastery of genetic manipulation (and even that is an understatement to call it that), they went through generations of mortal lives to make what they initially called ?The Shadow of War?, dubbed that because it was thought to be the creature to end all conflicts with power and force. However, a higher power beyond even the Crogentitors knowledge stole the experiment. The being took it to the farthest edges of the universe and chanted. It chanted until its life force collapsed. The life force devolved into what it was once, the incarnation of a Greater One, turned lesser to survive the death of its time. The Greater One inhabited the body, modifying it to more closely resemble its original form. And as the inferior body wore away, Clav?meteus was reborn, as a twisted incarnation of what it once was. Clav?meteus was a creature that existed in the space before our universe. It watched the universe, and waited. It masked its presence, and only in the direst of situations did it come into view. Holy War I was devastating, and for just a brief moment, a demigod heard whispers of a higher power. She ignored it though and continued her work. The Great Arc of Infinity War some short millenniums away, and again a whisper, but more defined. Some viewed this as a prophecy that shouldn?t be ignored, and set to work trying to decipher it. But the most impressive of events occurred on an Order outpost omni-cycles away. It was hardly special, just a routine base with a couple agents there. But they reported being attacked by a ?blue light that shot lightning of unrecorded powers, striding through our defenses with impossible ease and eerie grace?. Although losses were minimal, residue from the strange attack were highly toxic even in demigod standards. Energy readings weren?t possible to examine, and it was only beta-cycles later they concluded it was contact from a Greater One. All agents in the base before clearly heard a voice in their head. ?I shall return. And when that happens, the everlasting darkness of life will follow.
