Hypatia is dedicated to a wonderful buddy, brilliant creator and gifted writer, world_piece. World_piece has been a mentor and inspiration to so many creators in Sporedom that he really needs no introduction. So in thanks for all your kindness and support, WP, you are the lucky recipient of one of my signature weird and misunderstood spacecraft. WP, the Hypatia is a well-armed heavy cargo ship that can carry goods as large as construction equipment and small spacecraft. She has been appointed with luxurious quarters and amenities crew and guests. Hypatia is shielded and equipped to travel in hyper space. I hope you enjoy her, you deserve this tribute. Hypatia is named after the first woman mathematician and astromer, who was born around 370 AD in Alexandria, Egypt. She edited the existing version of Ptolemy's
"Almagest" astronomical work and charted celestial bodies. She taught about astrolabes and invented the hydroscope, which is used to measure the density of water. Tragically, she was beaten to death by an angry mob who felt threatened by her accomplishments.
