Description
Arthropleura is a colossal extinct arthropod, a relative of the modern-day centipede. It in the Carboniferous period, when the earth was so covered in lush vegetation that there was huge quantities of oxygen in the air, allowing arthropods to evolve to truly epic proportions; the most epic of all was arthropleura, growing up to 3 metres in length-- long enough to rear up and look a grown man in the eye. In fact paleontologists estimate it did just that to fend off any predators, or perhaps as a mating display. Most scientists believe arthropleura was omnivorous, Mungin' down on anything it could find.Awesome.Inspired by Walking with Monsters.
