Description

First flown in April 1909, the Farman III was a turning point in aviation. Designed and built by a Frenchman named Henry Farman. This machine allowed the pilot more control than ever before, utilising a wheeled undercarriage for landing and ailerons on the wings for slowing the aircraft, as well as adjusting the course. In 1909, Henry Farman set two world distance records using this very vehicle.
