I've killed several 8-Star level monsters in MHFU (Village Cheif!):
Azure Lao Shan (Defeated, not killed)
Congalala and Shogun
Plesioth and White Diablos
Plesioth and Khezu
All I have left is dual Plesioth and Yain Garugua... which should I do...?

Sorry, I was hunting cephalos. Chain Blitz will probaly cut it. If you can find powerful machine bowguns(forgot the name) use them. I think I used a heavy bowgun though.

They work it's just that plesioths are powerful, and that just takes a bit of damage off. When I first started this game I ran to te guild, chose a high lvl quest, and I ran into the cave only to be wiped out by his high pressure jet breath...

...farm them. I hope this helps. I had full shogun ceanataur armor(and still do) at the moment which is pretty tough.
