Description
*For the Nixum4 Planet Fauna Contest!*Nixumian Cephaletons, despite their squid-like appearance, are actually vertibrates. They keep warm in Nixum4's cold atmosphere with a bluish fur which covers their bodies. The boney spine which runs down the front side of a Cephaleton is extremely tough, yet light, providing both structure to its sac-like body as well as protection from impact-based predators. Almost every other organ in a Cephaleton comes in sixes. The wing-like fins on its upper body help it control itself while floating in the mach-force winds of Nixum4. It controls its altitude by building up gasses in its body to rise, and releasing them to descend. A Cephaleton has two small organs, one on each side of its body, which sense Nixum4's magnetic field so it can tell which way is up. It filter-feeds on microscopic creatures with the dendrites on its front. The longer gills on its underside let it breath in the oxygen- and hydrogen-rich atmosphere, while its six tentacles latch on to large, docile creatures so it can feed on abundant microscopic parisites.*Made by LucarioGuy!*
