Um... Charles Darwin never speculated as to the formation or origin of life; his theory of natural selection simply explains the diversity and evolution of organisms. I'm an evolutionary biologist.

Funny thing, Pope John-Paul 2 actually declare that ''evolution was more than an hypothesis'' and the official Catholic point of view is that evolution is true and it is entirely consistent with God.
