She shuddered as the physical and emotional pain racked her body. She willed herself to read the letter again, ?To my dear family that I would die for, words cannot describe how tortured I am while I write. I fear that my daughter will never know me as I was before. And to my dear wife, I pray you will not believe yourself cursed for loving me. I only wanted the best for you both, and now I count myself as the most foolish man on earth. For what we had before this was the best a man could ever have wanted. Know that I will always love you both. It is for that reason alone that you will never see me again.? She smoothed the worn page and compared it again to the new letter. Same handwriting. But how was it even possible? She glanced again at the last sentence on the mysterious new letter. ?Never give up, there is always hope.? Then all at once the world stopped moving and the words mixed with the pain, the storm in her body finally broke free. The light seared through her lithe form and lifted her from the seat. He watched helplessly as she was broken and reformed. He stared in horror as he looked into the face of the golden mask.
