I used similar names because of the alchemical and mythological connections. I also tried to reduce the dualism between the light a dark / wood a metal, and make them seem more interrelated.

My interest in them comes from that series of games, but they get their names from the classification of elemental spirits in alchemy (in the games).

These are fantastic! They wouldn't by any chance be inspired by the secret of mana would they? That was a great game back in the day and had Undine and Sylph and Salamander...
