You know, there is a cheat for "Freedom" Just push Control Shift then C then type freedom.

Nice ruined effect. And I know how the complexity meter is annoying - I was trying to make early civ stage a little more realsitic by making medeval buildings, and the castle turned out looking like a house with a big wall around it...
