Macrauchenia was a long necked, long limbed, 3 toed South American ungulate from the late Pleistocene period. With only the numbers in their herds and their speed. it was the only defense they had against predators.

Actually thats not correct. Macrauchenia isn't related to horses at all. in fact modern horses were already roaming North America at the same time Macrauchenia was roaming South America.
