Description

They live in tribes. Each tribe is made up of fouteen families, each family consisting of an adult male(known as a bull) with his females(known as shes)and their young, this is in total 130 apes. Each tribe is lead by an adult male known as a king. They live in rainforest and lake areas. They speak a primitive language which sounds like growls and grunts to human ears but sound like words to each other. They are capable for living for 100 years and become full grown at the age of 19. They have been described by humans as being large, powerful, splendid, clean-limbed animals, with round, high foreheads. They have also been described as being fierce and terrible. Their diet is made up of small bugs, reptiles, fruit, nuts, small birds, and eggs. They are feared by everything except for elephants which alone they fear. They are known for eating the dead of other tribes in a gathering known as the Dum-Dum. This involves all of the bulls beating the dead body with a club until the body has become a hairy pulp after which the bulls tear into the body with all their might and will go back and forth from the carcass until they are either no longer hungry or the carcass is gone. Their height is known as being six feet. Ironically, Mangani is the name given to a silver ape with supernatural powers who lives in the mountain regions. Besides the silver ape, several strange species of monkeys that are also called Mangani have been discovered on an island in the region. Further more, flying apes with arms that resemble bat wings live on that same island.
