the arrival on one of these ships in a system heralds the end of life around the star. these ships are huge and house millions of ticryaaw. they reside in an elaborate, class-based, network of habitation spheres throughout the ship.

I'm not a big fan of...lavender for ship color, but this pulls it off quite nicely. At first glance the speres invoke a WTH? response, but the description does a great job of explaining them.
