The few survivors reported that at least four of these heavy bombers emerged from a jamming field, eliminated the carrier's fighter screen in one missile salvo, and destroyed the carrier with torpedoes moments afterwards. All hands were lost. The timing of the strike seemed too much a coincidence but the suspected leak in intelligence was never discovered, to public knowledge.The Paktahn is a Kilrathi bomber design that saw action towards the end of the war. While the Illustrious was an embarassing and catastrophic loss, the Paktahn is more famous for its role in the destruction of the TCS Behemoth, which was a Terran weapon of mass destruction intended to destroy the Kilrathi homeworld, Kilrah. The event was not publicized until after the war.The Paktahn had far thinner defenses than the Confederation Longbow and did not feature a jump drive. However, it held the record for being the most heavily armed bomber in the history of the war and retained that status even well past the time of the Terran-Kilrathi conflict. Only the Confederation Devastator so far claims to have as much firepower in the bomber class, though in its main configuration the Devastator still carries two fewer torpedoes than the Paktahn.
