Description

For Zevais's fantasycontest! Part four of Insomniac: Orodaan walked to Brandor with unease. Suddenly he yelled'"Brandor! You hold a demon! Relinquish it now!" With determination, Brandor shook his head no. He needed to complete his mission to the demon. The demon hunter frowned and screamed,"Then die!" Orodaan ran towards him, spear raised to a killing stance. Faster then even Orodaan thought possible, Brandor revealed a crude dagger and stabbed the bird-man in the chest before the spear could fid its mark. Orodaan foze and dropped his spear, noticing the dagger in his chest. He relesed a low squawk and fell down, eyes glazing over. Brandor looked at the the dead demon hunter and to his bloody dagger, in disbelief. But the demon urged Brandor through a sort of telepathy, so he continued to the chaple wall. there, he opened the wall like a door, using knowledge implanted by the demon-thing into his brain to touch the proper stones. The room behind the wall was empty, except for a circular door in the stone floor. Brandor opened the floor-door in the same manner he had opened the wall-door, and descended down a row of stairs to a room under the chaple with a dirt floor. There he found a withered altar with various demonic carvings. He obediently stepped in front of the demon-altar and cut his arm with a dagger, letting the blood flow. Brandor walked in a circle, so the blood would line th altar, and stabbed his dagger in the moss-laden earth. There he sat, tears in his eyes, waiting for a sort of reward; peace was all he wanted, peace from the insomnia and the demon-thing. He would never get peace. The altar trembled slightly.
