Description

The Governor is the supposed representative of the state of the people in the Empire. Though usually swamped with 'acting' at viewing the affairs of state, he has the office seat above him always in sight as his goal. Quick to impress, grab a handshake or hug a baby... his true motive is to placate any disruption of unhappiness of the working social order to reach his higher office goal. His job is simple in context: happy people don't complain or revolt. Give them some cake, but keep the icing for his own offices use. Spread the seeds of contentment and hope they take root with the fertilizer he gives out in his speeches, sway the ignorant to his side and purge the intelligent with deadly discreetness. Say it loud enough, long enough and wave the banner, it becomes true, regardless the absurdity. Not one to follow up on promises made, he leaves those things to the natural order and hopes it rains with gifts from offices above in accolade or desire. One to side with the people at any conference or dilemma, put on an understanding face... but behind closed doors where the politics take place with his peers, this is where the true beasts play... this is the reverse of what the real people see. A brown-nose to the Congress and Senate, a kiss-up to the people. A Governor is evidence that politics is much to serious a business to be left to politicians alone. [Creature design by Al B. Bach]
