Description

Conceived by Admiral Popov, the "Novgorod" and "Popov" were built for the Imperial Russian Navy in 1874. Slow, hard to steer, swamped by sea swells, and having a habit of spinning when their two main 11 inch guns were fired, both were scrapped in 1912.
