Description
Driftstalkers use their arctic color scheme to sneak amongst the wind-swept snow drifts. Their long, powerful limbs make them fast and agile in even the deepest snow. They patiently stalk their prey, waiting for the creature to become lost and exhausted. It is then that they pounce, ironically preventing the sorry critter from a slow, frigid death by exposure to the subzero temperature. Driftstalkers are great jumpers and climbers, but are also quite sneaky. Though their colors reflect light and thus, heat, they have evolved tough skin and thick fur to keep them warm even on the coldest arctic nights. If animal prey is scarce, then Driftstalkers will wander to lower altitudes and warmer climates to gather plants and fungi. On icy arctic nights, their awful howling is often heard echoing across the glistening alpine valleys.
