Descripción
The planet Grumm was a harsh world. With most of the planets surface covered with water the many races wared over the few islands that dotted the surface, while also dealing with strong storms and hostile wildlife. For most, life was brief and unfulfilling. That included a race of amphibians called the Grummite. They were a nomadic race, constantly on the move onboard their crude rafts and constantly besieged by predators such as the Krill. They were never destined for greatness and when a planet wide storm began to form, they were doomed to extinction. That changed when their leader, Veran, dived into the darkest depths of the ocean, led by what he called a voice that called out to him. No one quite knows what happened, but he returned with what he called 'knowledge of The Deep'. From here, the fortunes of the Grummite changed. They overran the planet, wiping out the other factions and domesticating the wildlife. They were able to achieve spaceflight within an incredibly short time and were soon launching attacks on unsuspecting worlds. Many across the galaxy were surprised at how fast the once primitive Grummite had achieve a level of technology that rivalled the Cabal and Corporations of old. Many more questioned what Veran found beneath the waters of Grumm. What was the Deep? An entity? An idea? Whatever it was, it had wiped the Grummite into a frenzy. The truth of the Deep wouldn't be revealed until a signal reached the world, sent from the Anomaly on the third Moon of Torobatl. From the depths came a vessel, massive in size and identical to the Anomaly of Torobatl. The titanic Pyramid rose above the surface, but remained there, unmoving. Within days, the waters around the Pyramid were swarming with Grummite. While deep space scans couldn't penetrate the hull of the Pyramid, they showed that it was spreading a strange and primordial type of dark energy, which the Skarjj scientist Heloise called Resonance. Scans also showed the Grummite were creating shipyards around the vessel, with starships of an unknown design being constructed, each seemingly powered by Resonance. The Deep had risen from the depths and it had seemingly gifted it's followers part of its paracausal power. If the Grummite managed to successfully harness Resonant energy, then it was speculated that their technological advantage would far exceed that of all the races of the Galaxy, and perhaps that of even the mighty Forerunners. The Balance of power in the Galaxy was rapidly shifting...
