In 1929 Tentrus was asked to build Algonia's main dive bomber. However, at the same time Slortia sales were dwindling and they were on their last order. To keep the production lines moving, the biplane fighter was heavily modified. MIC

The bomb load is of reasonable size, the bombers have good manuverability compared to other aircraft of the type, are inexpensive to produce, can be built from old aircraft, and can use production lines built for another aircraft (the slortia).

anyone who knew how to work on a Slortia would work on an Escoro, which prevented some work crews from having to be retrained for new fighters and instead go to work on the Escoros when their Slortias were replaced.

The Escoros, first entering service the same year the first Slortias were retired, were considered great by the pilots that flew them and the crews that operated them.
