The first known fossil of this dinosaur was just a piece of the skull. It was very thick and bulged upwards into a tall mound-like structure that resembled the domes of pachycephalosaurs, and so it was classified as one. This was soon corrected when a complete skull was found. The "dome" was actually a short horn growing out of an notch in the head.
